.NET 9 is HERE! 🎉 Get Up to Speed Now! 🚀

What a week! .NET Conf 2024 has already come to a close.

.NET 9 is finally released!

And here we are, celebrating the latest version of one of the best, most modern, and most versatile software development platforms. 🎉

Tens of thousands of developers watched the sessions live, and many more will watch the recordings after the fact.

I watched most of the first and second day’s sessions. There are so many exciting things to share about .NET 9.

The main talking points were .NET Aspire, .NET MAUI, ASP.NET Core Blazor, C# 13, and AI services.

I can only fit part of it into this newsletter, but I will share a lot in the coming weeks.

.NET Upgrade Assistant

The .NET Upgrade Assistant is a stand-alone CLI tool and a Visual Studio extension. It helps you with migrating existing .NET applications to newer .NET versions and supports many different application types.

Today, I had to migrate two .NET 6-based Azure Function applications to .NET 9.

And let me tell you - the .NET Upgrade Assistant saved me so much time. It updates the .csproj files, updates NuGet Packages where required, and alters the Program.cs file, etc.
